General Information on Marketing

You probably heard of the 80/20 rule. It’s the mathematical equation that 20 percent of your efforts bring in 80 of your results.

But if you know this rule already are you using it?

For example if you’ve spent 80 hours at your computer this week only 20% of those hours are going to bring home the best results.

Frightening right? Nobody would intentionally waste that much time but it happening to you right now today.

So, make today the day you’re “Gonna trim the fat” and get rid of that wasted effort.

What you need to do is focus on the 20% that’s bringing home the bacon and stop doing those things that are less productive.

How?

By becoming more focused in you do…

Stop visiting forums unless its research or you genuinely have a problem and need help. Other than that avoid forums, it’s very easy to lose a couple of hours reading and replying to posts. If you need to visit a forum give yourself a time limit of how long you’re going to stay and then when its time up, get out of there!

Avoid the temptation to check your e-mail every few minutes and check out the latest promotions. (The world ain’t gonna end if you don’t buy the next big thing.)

Make a pact with yourself you’ll only read e-mail after you’ve done something productive. Then do a quick scan of the e-mail headlines and pick which ones to read. (Be choosy with what you read)

Pay attention to you web stats. Where is your web site traffic coming from articles/ pay per click / search engines?

Find out where you’re getting the best results and focus on that only forget the rest.

Are you wasting time on a project or website that’s just taking up your time and bringing in results?

Sometimes we can get attached to a particular project emotionally and it can be hard to let it go. But you need to think cold and clinically it hasn’t made any money yet and you’ve given it a fair chance move on and focus on where you are making money. (That is if you are working online to make money?

If it’s a hobby stick with it but don’t let it distract you from what you need to be doing.

These are only a few suggestions; you may find you’re wasting time in other areas than what I suggested. It differs from person to person in that my 20% may be different than your 20%.

But by working and constantly remembering the 80/20 rule you’ll start to reap the benefits in more time to spend with your loved ones enjoying life and a more profitable business. Plus with the extra time you can now work on more projects/ideas that you thought you didn’t have time to do.

What is the best internet business opportunity for me ? Is this sounds like a question you ask? This is the frequently asked question from my new subscribers. Most of them are new to the internet marketing.

It is a normal question for the newbies. But can we answers this question. “NO”, I have to say I dont know because the subscribers are not my near and dears and I have no knowledge about your skill sets especially your knowledge, your dedication, style, available spare time and the last but not the least “Your FOCUS levels”.

The reason for my emphasis on focus is “deliberate”. This is the area which most people lose control , not because they can’t focus but the circumstances makes them to do so. (This can be a separate post by themselves!)

But instead of saying a direct answer to the question, I can give some guidelines for successful Internet business

1. Create a website / blog based on your passion – This is following your passion (Making money will be  part of this)

2. Create a website / blog to earn money – This is following the money.

Lets see each one briefly:

Following your passion
If you’re promoting and selling your passion, then it’s much easier for you to create high value content and products and pass that along in such an enthusiastic and decisive way that it automatically will show your expertise! This is the best way to earn online since people expect solutions from the expert.

Once established as an expert, you use that status to build a strong relationship with your prospects. Use your knowledge to help them as much as you can. The point is, all things being equal, people prefer to buy from a friend, rather than a stranger.

BUT, the big thing here to remember is the demand. Is your passion have enough demand in the market. If yes there will not be a problem in creating the product and marketing it. But if there is no demand and you wait for the customer to roll in – believe me you get frustrated and ultimately quit.

So market research is the most improtant thing for your success. This is can be termed as keyword research in internet world.
Following the money :

Your aim is here is to make money by grabing your share of pie. Here too market research is very important. You promote only product which are demand and people are buying.

The big problem with this approach is you might not have knowledge in this field. Knowledge is more important to create content. You would have heard “Content is the King” in the kingdom of internet. If you are not able to provide good quality and unique content, there is no significant monetary gains.

The alternative way to create content is outsourcing all the thing required. But this approach is costly and your breakeven period is uncertain.

So either way you have to decide on the course of action depends on your circumstances. Whatever your approach is “Taking Action” is more vital than any thing.

All the best on your best internet business opportunities.
